About me

People ask me about the name of my blog and the Radish part.  I used radishes because they are visual attractive, round and red. And when old, they are old a little caustic and biting.   Sometimes that is me

I live in Northeastern Florida, and I moved here from Puget Sound of Washington.   My subject matter is always in flux.  I go through different crazes and my blog goes with me.  I enjoy food, photography, I love my family, and I am creative always.  I write about life.   Lately I have included some politics and religion.

2006_mary_jane_gabe_no_front_teeth1 This is also a cute picture of no front teeth.  Mary Jane and Gabriel.   Like little babies I can just go up and kiss those cheeks. Mary Jane had a loose front tooth for about 2 months.  I have looked in vain for the  photo of the day that Gabe lost his first tooth.   He was stunned and bloody I might add.

Michael is in trial.   Yesterday  went okay.   The fortunate part is that he lucked out and was able to send his client home for rest of the trial.  This was good because the man was a loose canon.   And as it turned out the jurors saw the defendant, but perhaps they did not get to "know" the defendant.  Today the big witnesses for the plaintiff were to be on , and of course Michael did not have rebuttal witnesses.   So today he could be beat up  pretty good.

I am trying to sew an apron today.  I am not performing well.  I did not think through all the parts.  The apron is salvageable, but I wish I had done it right.   And. . . the sewing machine is not performing and I know if I take to be cleaned, they will clean it in 5 minutes and that will be $50.00.  I am hoping that the remedy will come to me in my sleep.

Susie_and_lowell_at_old_house This is my next scrapbook photo.    Mother and Dad at the old house.  Part of the reason that I love this picture is that there is some of the house.   Tim's bedroom was by the upstairs windows.  My bedroom is in the upper left of the picture.  This was actually a very elegant coat that Mother had.  I am sure it was expensive.  But we were so poor she wore blue jeans and a plaid shirt underneath.  I think Mother gave herself the permanent.  She did not find her style in the 50's. This is the era when my Dad bought a 50# sack of dried garbanzo beans.  Believe it or not.   I still like garbanzo beans.  oops this is not my next page, I have already done one.  Keeping the pictures straight is driving me crazy.

I just got off the phone with Mary Katherine in Florida.  She is okay, but very ready to go home, and Mary Jane is super ready.  Randy is in England having a blast.    It was in the high 70's today.  Hum.

I had a wonderful talk with Ellen and Carolyn the other day for about 50 minutes.  It was the morning after Mk & fam. left.  It was a welcome diversion.   Carolyn wanted to announce to Ellen and me at the same time that Father Eric is leaving St.  Alban's to work in the Diocese  Outreach care.   Carolyn was euphoric.   Apparently there is no one there left that I would know except Alice Hackett.   Homeless care is his real passion and he should have made the move long ago.   He is not a bad man, I just do not think that St. Alban's was his main priority.

January 16 more

I have just returned from the cardiologist and I am in good shape except for my weight.   He says that I am one of the really lucky ones, especially with the pacemaker.  I guess that not all people respond so well.  He encouraged me to do something about what he thinks in arthritis in my knees and one hip.   We spent most of the time talking about weight loss which he feels will make me move better.   He suggested that I should not drink a half a bottle of  wine.  Not conducive to weight loss.    Although he is not against me drinking.   He tells me to have fun.

Yesterday Michael and I moved into the twenty first century.   We watched the first half of the premiere of 24 hours.   I heard Michael Medved talk about it and he says that is the only show he has discussed, ever.   We thought it was fun.  Who knows, today 24 hours, and tomorrow American Idol, maybe even Skating Celebrities.

Tim_and_pam_copy This is a page that I have not yet printed of my brother Tim and Pam's wedding day.   I do not know if it will enlarge, but I hope so as you  will see that I say that I think it was the happiest day of his life.   I am not sure what he thought married life was going to be, but he was happy.   Also he was happy when his girls were born   And how he did love them.

The weather is rain.
